Background

I moved to Holly in 2018 because I wanted my children to grow up in a safe, close-knit village, the kind of community I was fortunate to have in my own childhood. From the beginning, Holly felt like home, and I’m proud to raise my family here.

I’ve worked hard my entire life. As a young teenager making my own way, I cleaned construction sites, worked with horses, and took on restaurant jobs to help support myself. Later, I worked as a bartender for many years before earning my master’s degree in counseling from Oakland University. Today, I serve as a private practice mental health counselor, and I also work with a non-profit, where I help provide mental health support to Gold Star families and the surviving families of first responders.

My family and I are a Gold Star family, honoring the memory of my oldest son, who gave his life in service to our nation. I stay active with the American Legion and work closely with local veterans’ groups. Inspired by my son’s love of writing, I also host a Little Free Library so neighbors can share in the joy of reading.

As a mom of three surviving children, I know firsthand how important it is to build a Holly that is safe, stable, and thriving together by always putting Holly families and our community first. I carry the heart of a servant, and that commitment to service guides every decision I make for our village.
